What we collect

• Account information — your email and basic profile when you sign in with Google.
• What you check — the identifiers you submit (a licence plate, a finca number, or a map coordinate).
• Transaction details — information needed to coordinate a safe close (parties, price, and the email of a buyer or seller you enter).
• Support messages — anything you send us directly.

How we use it

• To run registry checks against official Costa Rican sources and return a verdict.
• To coordinate escrow and the notarial closing of a transaction you start.
• To communicate with you about your checks and deals.

Registry data & privacy

Verification draws on public and official registry sources. For vehicle checks we show the title-status verdict — never the registered owner’s name or cédula. Owner-of-record information, where available, is handled only within an authorized, gated lookup.

Text messaging (SMS & WhatsApp)

If you give us your phone number and opt in, Carros506 sends SMS and WhatsApp messages about your vehicle inquiry, verification, or transaction — for example replies from a specialist, lead and status updates, and appointment or closing coordination. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS/text-messaging opt-in consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is used only to send the messages you requested and to coordinate the transaction you started.

Who we share with

We do not sell your information. We share it only as needed to complete a transaction you initiate — with the regulated escrow provider (Escrow.com, a US-licensed service that holds funds; we never custody funds ourselves) and with the notary executing a transfer. We use standard service providers (hosting, analytics, email) under their own terms.

Security, retention & your choices

We protect data with industry-standard measures and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You can request access to or deletion of your account data by emailing us. You can revoke Google sign-in access from your Google account at any time.
